- The EinScan Rigil and Rigil Lite are ideal for reverse engineering and general industrial use. The EinScan Libre targets metrology and quality control. The EinScan Medixa is built for medical and O&P applications. Not sure? Book a free online demo and we'll advise together.
- Do I receive an invoice and confirmation email?
- Yes. After payment you automatically receive a confirmation email with order details and invoice. Please provide your shipping address at checkout to avoid delays.
- What's the difference between the EinScan Rigil and the Rigil Lite?
- Both use the same blue laser scanning technology. The Rigil is the flagship with more laser lines, higher scan speed, an infrared mode for marker-free scanning of large objects, and a photogrammetry module for extra accuracy over long distances. The Rigil Lite is a more compact, more affordable version for small to mid-size industrial parts without the infrared and photogrammetry modes.
- What is the accuracy of the EinScan series?
- The EinScan Rigil reaches up to 0.02 mm accuracy with volumetric accuracy up to 0.02 mm + 0.015 mm/m. The Rigil Lite is around 0.03 mm. The EinScan Libre is a metrology-grade scanner with VDI/VDE 2634 certified accuracy down to 0.02 mm. The Medixa is optimised for human-body scanning at the 0.1 mm level.
- What light source do the scanners use — is it safe?
- Rigil, Rigil Lite and Libre use multiple blue laser lines (Class 2 laser, eye-safe under normal use). The Medixa uses structured white LED light, suitable for scanning people and faces. No special protective equipment is required.
- Can I scan without markers or spray powder?
- Yes, in many cases. The Rigil supports marker-free scanning (including infrared mode for large objects). For reflective, transparent or black surfaces, matting spray is still recommended. Markers are optional for extra stability on large or geometry-poor parts.
- Which file formats does the EinScan export?
- The bundled EXStar software exports to STL, OBJ, PLY, ASC, P3, 3MF and STEP clouds. These drop straight into SolidWorks, Geomagic, Fusion 360, ZBrush, PolyWorks and most CAD/CAM and 3D printing workflows.
- What PC do I need to run the software?
- EXStar runs on Windows 10/11 64-bit. Recommended: Intel i7 / AMD Ryzen 7, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX GPU (RTX 3060 or higher), SSD storage and USB 3.0. For the Libre and large datasets an RTX 4070 or higher is recommended.
- What's in the box?
- Standard: the scanner, power and data cables, calibration board, marker set (if applicable), rugged carrying case, EXStar software licence and quick-start guide. The Rigil ships with the photogrammetry kit (full version). Exact contents are listed on each product page.
- Do I get warranty and software updates?
- Yes. Every scanner ships with 2 years of Shining 3D factory warranty and lifetime EXStar software updates. We handle first-line support in Dutch, English or French.
- Is training included?
- Yes. Every purchase includes an in-depth online demo/onboarding covering hardware, calibration, scanning workflow and export to your CAD suite. Additional training sessions are available on request.
